I grew up in a smaller town in South Dakota with my family and a house full of pets. I learned from a very young age the importance of animal care. In high school, I had my first job at the age of 14 with a local veterinary clinic. That is where my passion began. I graduated from high school and was accepted to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Pre-Veterinary Program. In my second year of school, I switched to an Animal Science degree and achieved my BS degree in 2005. In college, I worked at the Minnesota Zoo Bird Show as a bird trainer and Family Farm as a farm keeper. I have worked at a Minneapolis veterinary hospital for nearly four years. I also have worked at the Animal Humane Society working in the dog kennel and processing adoptions. Loving every minute of being surrounded by animals, I started up my own pet sitting business by staying at people's homes when they were on vacation. That is when I knew that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life!
Shortly before I graduated I finally got my own pup from the humane society. After college, I met my husband and he realized my passion for animals and my desire to care for them. We soon got our second pup from the humane society to add to our family. Now, we too want the best care for them, so we found that hiring a pet sitter for our dogs was a very comforting decision. Being a pet sitter and having a pet sitter watch my own dogs, I have seen the positive effects on them. My passion is to care for pets, educate pet owners on better pet care and giving the best and highest quality pet care that I can. Your pet is probably a family member and your best friend, why wouldn't you want the best quality care when you can't be there!
I also am very passionate about helping unwanted and stray animals in our communities. I support the Animal Humane Society and other rescue organizations in their hard work in finding great homes for these animals as well as rescuing them from unsanitary and in-humane environments. I also support reputable and honest breeders of different species. Educating and helping one and another with our pets will really go along way in the fight against animal cruelty.
